About the Brooklyn Bun Race

On April 15, 2012, the 2nd annual Brooklyn Bun will race through Brooklyn’s Prospect Park. The course will take participants on a counterclockwise circuit of the Park’s internal roads. Leading off the event is a 20k bike comprised of 4 counterclockwise loops on Prospect Park's Main Drive; a time-trial bike start will send athletes off at 10 second intervals. This will minimize congestion at the start and still allow for superb, chip-timed competition. Once athletes complete the bike segment they will transition to a 5K run, which is one counterclockwise loop of the Park's Main Drive and finish in the Bartel Lot.

Relays

A relay team is made up of two participants. Each participant completes one segment of the race, either the bike or run, and the timing chip is transferred from one relay participant to the next in the transition area. When you register online, you will sign up both athletes. Relay Teams must either all come together to pick up your packets and sign the waiver or one team member may come with both signed waivers to pick up for the team.
